Bisnode divests Emric
Bisnode has divested its 50.1 per cent stake in Emric, one of Sweden’s leading providers of software, qualified consulting services and outsourcing in the credit and loan area. The transaction will not have any noticeable effect on Bisnode’s earnings for 2010.
Emric’s customers are some of the Nordic region’s banks, credit institutions and finance companies. Emric has annual revenue of approximately SEK 100 million and more than 100 employees based in Stockholm, Uppsala and Kalix, Sweden. Bisnode acquired the share majority in Emric in 2007, and together with Emric’s founder and other shareholders has developed the company into one of the top suppliers in its market segment.
“Although Emric has performed well over the past three years, the company has no clear synergies with Bisnode’s other operations. In line with Bisnode’s strategy to focus on our core business and increase our realisation of synergies, it is a logical decision to divest the shareholding in Emric, which operates under a different business model,” says Johan Wall, President and CEO of Bisnode.
Emric’s minority shareholders have chosen to exercise their repurchase option and will acquire Bisnode’s share in the company on 9 June 2010.
“We see it as a natural step for Emric to continue its development outside Bisnode. Within a few years, our goal is to be the Nordic region’s leading provider of credit-related software and qualified services to the banking and finance sector,” says Fredrik Månsson, Chairman, founder and one of the owners of Emric.
