Human resources
Bisnode’s strongly decentralised organisational model promotes entrepreneurship in the individual companies and motivates the employees.
In the end of 2009, the total number of employees was 3,095 and average number of employees during the year was 2,940. There is an even distribution between men and women in the Group, with men making up 55 per cent and women 45 per cent.
Direct sales are Bisnode’s top priority
Bisnode takes a direct approach to the market and sees its sales and marketing function as a key priority in the business. 46 percent of the Group’s employees work in sales and marketing, where efforts are carried out through the company’s direct sales force, working mainly over the phone but also through direct visits. Each operating company has its own sales force that markets only its own brands. Employees in IT and production also play an important role, since almost all of the services are digital and distributed over the Internet, and 41 percent of the Group’s employees are active in this area.
Motivation through competition
An example of how Bisnode values good sales people is the Excellent Performance Club competition, which has been running since 1998. All sales people within Bisnode are invited to compete against each other, and the top performers will be awarded at the annual Excellent Perfromance Club Awards - a prestigious gala held in a European city. The competition had more than 700 contenders in 2009 and last year's winners has reported back from their prize journeys around the world.
