Pia Törnqvist
Marketing Manager at PAR, Sweden
Pia have chosen to stay in the Group because every day is a learning experience and no two days are alike.
When and why did you join the Group?
I started at PAR in August 2001 as a project manager with sales responsibility. PAR captured my interest, since it gave me the opportunity to choose a position that really attracted me. I was an excellent combination of sales and market, which were and are two things that I really enjoy.
Describe your entire career path and the choices you have made.
Already two months after joining PAR, I was asked if I wanted to be a team leader for PAR’s telephone sales department. It was a role I held until October 2007, when I was offered the chance to take overall responsibility for PAR’s sales. We have over 40 sales representatives at five different offices/business areas. It was a very exciting challenge and an offer I couldn’t refuse! Today
PAR is a fantastic company with an unusual combination of stability and ambition, we are continuously developing and creating new products and services in response to the needs of our customers. I learn new things every day, which means continuous development for me and the company. It has been a very easy choice to stay in the Group.
What is important for you at work?
The opportunity to influence, and that we have extremely interesting products. We really feel that we are helping our customers to improve their business performance and profitability. We assist them in finding new customers and retaining their existing ones. Other important aspects are the potential for development and my fun and professional colleagues.
Why have you chosen to stay in the Group?
Because every day is a learning experience and no two days are alike. PAR is a very good company to work for, which is clearly visible in the fact that people don’t quit. There are salespeople who have worked here for 20 years, and others who have left the company and then come back. That has to be one of the highest forms of praise a company can get.
At the same time, there is a lot going on in the CRM and DM areas. We need to deal with the public’s advertising fatigue and new legislation in the DM area, both of which are exciting challenges. There is also scope for increased cross-sales within Bisnode.
How would you describe the “Bisnode culture” in a few words?
Bisnode is made up of over 100 companies in 19 countries, and strives for each company to have its own strong brand. PAR has been in existence for more than 50 years and has a dynamic corporate culture, based on unique expertise and the will to continuously develop and innovate new services. There is a tremendous energy to grow and succeed. The ceiling is high and it is a pleasure to come to work every day, meet colleagues and together find new ways to meet our customers’ needs. We often talk about enthusiasm at PAR and I feel that this can be found in almost everything we do, both internally and in working for our customers.
